Database Chex helps organizations monitor and understand the health, availability, performance, cost, configuration, and security posture of supported database environments. Because our Services may interact with customer cloud and database environments, this Privacy Policy also explains what types of customer environment data we may process and what types of data we do not intentionally collect.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Your use of the Services may also be governed by our Terms and Conditions, order forms, subscription agreements, data processing agreements, or other written agreements between you and Database Chex.

Definitions

For purposes of this Privacy Policy:

“Customer Environment Data” means information, metadata, telemetry, configuration details, monitoring signals, logs, metrics, alerts, reports, identifiers, or related technical information processed by Database Chex from or about customer-authorized cloud, database, infrastructure, or connected technology environments in connection with providing the Services. Customer Environment Data may include database health indicators, performance metrics, availability metrics, security configuration information, cost and utilization data, and operational telemetry, but does not ordinarily include full customer database contents, full production datasets, or complete database backups unless specifically authorized by the customer for support, troubleshooting, implementation, remediation, or other approved purposes.

“Services” means the websites, applications, software, platforms, portals, monitoring tools, reports, alerts, dashboards, support services, customer success services, integrations, APIs, and related offerings provided by Database Chex, including services available through or connected to databasechex.com.

“Processing” or “Process” means any operation or set of operations performed on information or data, whether by automated means or not, including collection, access, use, storage, organization, recording, retrieval, analysis, transmission, disclosure, modification, combination, retention, deletion, destruction, or other handling of information or data.

  • Database service tier, SKU, DTU, vCore, storage, or capacity settings

  • CPU, memory, storage, DTU, vCore, IO, waits, blocking, or related utilization metrics  
  • Backup status or backup configuration metadata  
  • Configuration and security posture information  
  • Failed login indicators or unusual access signals

  • Maintenance activity records  
  • Customer-selected reporting and notification preferences  

Database Chex uses this information to provide database health insights, plain-English reports, alerts, recommendations, customer support, and service-backed database guidance.

3.3 Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Database Chex is designed to monitor database health, availability, performance, cost, configuration, and security posture. As part of our ordinary Services, we do not intentionally collect, copy, store, or access:

  • Full customer database contents  
  • Full customer database tables  
  • Customer application source data  
  • Database backups  
  • Full production data exports  
  • Government-issued identification numbers  
  • Health records  
  • Biometric data  
  • Payment card numbers, unless processed directly by an authorized payment provider  
  • Highly sensitive personal information unless specifically required, authorized, and governed by a written agreement  

Database Chex does not require access to customer database table contents to provide ordinary database health monitoring and reporting.

However, certain diagnostic logs, query text, error messages, support materials, screenshots, or customer-provided files may occasionally contain personal information, confidential information, or customer data. If a customer provides or authorizes access to such information for troubleshooting, support, implementation, or remediation purposes, we will use it only for the authorized purpose and handle it according to this Privacy Policy and any applicable customer agreement.

Customers should not submit sensitive personal information, regulated data, production data exports, database backups, confidential source data, or full database contents to Database Chex unless specifically requested and authorized for a defined support, implementation, or remediation purpose.

3.3.1 Sensitive Personal Information

Database Chex does not intentionally collect, access, store, or process Sensitive Personal Information unless specifically authorized, required for a defined business purpose, or necessary to provide requested support, implementation, remediation, security, or compliance-related Services.

Sensitive Personal Information may include:

  • Precise geolocation information
  • Account usernames or credentials combined with passwords or access codes

Customers are responsible for managing their own users, permissions, cloud configurations, account credentials, and the information they choose to submit to Database Chex.

Customers are also responsible for ensuring that any information submitted to Database Chex has been properly authorized and that customer-side access permissions are configured appropriately.

Database Chex is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from customer-side misconfiguration, compromised customer credentials, or permissions granted outside the scope of the Services.

12. International Data Transfers

We enter into Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) where required and incorporate Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

13. Your Privacy Rights and How to Exercise Them

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights:

Privacy rights for U.S. residents and international users may overlap. We apply consistent standards where feasible while honoring jurisdiction specific legal requirements.

15. Florida Privacy and Breach Notification

Database Chex is located in Florida and complies with applicable Florida privacy and data security requirements, including applicable breach notification obligations.

If we determine that a security breach has occurred involving personal information covered by applicable Florida law, we will provide notices required by law, including notices to affected individuals and, where required, the Florida Department of Legal Affairs.

The Services are intended for business users and are not directed to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We also do not knowingly collect personal information from minors where prohibited by applicable law.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child or minor in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.

18. Do-Not-Track Signals

Some browsers may transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no consistent industry standard for how to respond to these signals, we do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track browser signals.
